Responsibilities:

MŌ TE TŪRANGA | ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Portfolio Specialist (titled as Specialist, Value Stream Delivery), you’ll play a key role in supporting strategic change within a Value Stream by applying an assurance and coaching role. The purpose of the role is to ensure the application of the systems and processes to support the execution of strategic change in a Value Stream. You will work very closely with Value Stream Director in this role and support initiatives through all phases using of the delivery framework. As part of this role, you will ensure effective scope management, reporting, governance, planning, and risk/issue management expectations and practices within teams.

Some of the key responsibilities of this role will be:

  • Assurance across all value stream programs particularly accurate aggregation of key value stream data extraction and reporting e.g. financial management and benefits.
  • Partner with and coach programs where required to uplift practices to improve delivery
  • Collaborate actively with project and program managers to maintain a transparent value stream backlog. Facilitating work item selection, prioritisation, planning, and sequencing including quarterly and financial year planning.
  • Support value stream decisions aligned with business strategy.
  • Operate governance practices, providing an integrated view of delivery activity and performance.
  • Evaluate pipeline opportunities (across technology and business) and recommend delivery pathways.
  • Embed enterprise tools, adhere to best practices, and adopt modern delivery methods.

This is a permanent role open to candidates based in all the major cities in Australia or New Zealand.

To excel in this role, you should have strong collaboration skills, adaptability, a proactive approach, along with the following experience:

  • Strong commercial acumen with project accounting experience
  • Ability to summarise complex information and create insights
  • Ability to work across a broad number of stakeholders
  • Comfortable with ambiguity
  • Multi-year experience in a senior portfolio analyst, or senior project / program management role
  • Experience working in environments with a mix of delivery methodologies, with exposure to enterprise agile delivery.
  • Experience in facilitating and supporting delivery, plans and change associated with technology delivery and business improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in cost management, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Proven planning and/or portfolio governance experience in complex business environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect planning, prioritisation and sequencing within a complex environment.
  • Proven ability to support solutions that deliver value for customers, business, and our people in a complex environment
  • Excellent communication and senior stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with using tools such as JIRA, JIRA Align, Tableau, Microsoft 365 tools
  • Experience in program/steering committee level reporting, program financial management and planning
  • Qualifications such as / or similar to;
  • CaPM - PMI Certified associate in project management
  • CSM - Certified Scrum Master,
  • SAFe Agilist
