Description:
NVIDIA has continuously reinvented itself over two decades. Our invention of the GPU in 1999 sparked the growth of the PC gaming market, redefined modern computer graphics, and revolutionized parallel computing. More recently, GPU deep learning ignited modern AI — the next era of computing. NVIDIA is a “learning machine” that constantly evolves by adapting to new opportunities that are hard to solve, that only we can tackle, and that matter to the world. This is our life’s work, to amplify human imagination and intelligence. Make the choice, join our diverse team today!
Working the Silicon Solutions Engineering Team at NVIDIA, you will be responsible for productizing NVIDIA’s chips into groundbreaking consumer, professional, server, mobile, and automotive solutions. The qualified candidate should be comfortable in a lab environment and should demonstrate a passion towards creation, execution and improvement of silicon validation plans.
We are seeking a Senior Power Integrity Engineer to join our team. This role will focus on ensuring the optimal performance of power delivery networks for high-performance systems through simulation, analysis, and lab measurements. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of power integrity (PI) principles and hands-on experience conducting lab measurements of power delivery systems.
WHAT WE NEED TO SEE:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in power integrity engineering, with a focus on lab measurement of power delivery networks.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Expertise in power integrity measurements, including impedance measurements, power noise analysis, and transient response evaluation.
- Proficiency in using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, probes, VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and power analyzers.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity (SI) and its interactions with PI.
- Experience with PCB design and layout considerations related to power distribution.
- Familiarity with industry-standard simulation and modeling tools (SPICE, Sigrity, HFSS, or equivalent).
SOFT SKILLS:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers is a plus.
Responsibilities:
- Power Integrity Measurements: Perform in-depth lab measurements of power delivery systems, including impedance, noise, ripple, and transient responses, using oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNA), spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment.
- Analysis and Optimization: Analyze power delivery performance and recommend optimizations to ensure stable power distribution and minimal noise in high-performance systems.
- Post-Silicon Validation: Lead post-silicon validation activities to verify and debug power-related issues in the lab, correlating measurements with simulation models.
- Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose and resolve power integrity issues on the system, using both measurements and simulations to identify root causes.
- Documentation: Document lab measurement procedures, test setups, and results to communicate findings and design improvements effectively.
- Team Collaboration: Drive debug meeting and work closely with cross-functional teams s to address system-level power integrity challenges.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior engineers in PI fundamentals, measurement techniques, and best practices in power delivery design.
