What You Will Achieve
The Senior Pricing Manager is an experienced member of the ANZ Access and Value team, with highly developed technical skills, a deep knowledge of the PBS reimbursement and pricing systems and policies, coupled with good business acumen.
The role will lead strategic and operational pricing matters to gain and sustain reimbursed market access for Pfizer medicines and vaccines.
The role works closely with other members of the Access and Value team, providing expert analysis and strategic pricing advice for feasibility assessments, collaborating on development and implementation of optimal pricing strategies and in the development of financial estimates for PBAC and pricing submissions.
The role is responsible for the systems and analytic capabilities needed to deliver high quality pricing operations
The role maintains a deep understanding the local pricing landscape, including existing and emerging policy, sharing this knowledge with others to optimise reimbursement potential at launch and over the lifecycle.
The role involves working across Pfizer, both locally and globally, engaging independently and effectively with colleagues, including senior management.
The role must also build and maintain external relationships with consultants, representatives of the Department of Health and Aged Care, and other stakeholders.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Lead pricing strategy and operations for Pfizer medicines and vaccines to further patient access and business growth.
  • Provide expert advice on pricing matters including pricing methodologies and policies to support high quality feasibility assessments, PBAC submissions.
  • Provide leadership to deliver high quality and successful PBS pricing submissions and negotiations.
  • Provide strategic leadership and expert advice to pricing assumptions, pricing governance and business forecasting.
  • Analyse the payer and access environment and anticipate the opportunities and risks associated with new and changing pricing policies, proactively communicating changes across the business.
  • Develop and implement pricing research project as needed.
  • Lead pricing maintenance activities including price lists, annual and ad hoc reviews, Simplified Price Disclosure, development and maintenance of relevant SOPs etc.
  • Represent Pfizer externally in pricing policy development and advocacy.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Access and Value, Commercial Leads and other cross-functional colleagues to foster understanding of the pricing environment and systems.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • Qualifications in pharmacy, other life sciences, economics or business. Post-graduate qualifications in epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics or business.
  • HTA/market access/pricing technical expertise, a deep knowledge of the ANZ market access environment and at least seven years’ experience in preparing and/or evaluating and negotiating pricing submissions and related projects.
  • Experience in developing and implementing PBS and other pricing strategies for launch, across multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Experience within pharmaceutical, medical devices or affiliated industry.
  • Ability to lead and prioritise multiple complex projects with proven ability to assess feasibility, lead strategy and develop and deliver high quality content.
  • Proven track record working effectively in a cross functional team, able to work seamlessly across multiple teams and levels of leadership, both locally and globally.
  • The role requires a high level of competency in literacy (written and verbal communication) and numeracy skills, a comprehensive understanding of health economics, market access and pricing, and an ability to understand and synthesize highly complex information and data.
