Medtronic is hiring a Senior Pricing Strategy Manager to lead the pricing strategy of the Western Europe Diabetes organization, with a flexibility on the employee location within Europe. As a Senior Pricing Strategy Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing pricing strategies across the diabetes portfolio and customer segments. You will conduct value assessment, pricing research, demand curves, profit optimization modeling for new product launches in collaboration with marketing. You will drive diagnostics to determine key pricing levers, estimate pricing opportunities, and support execution of price increase initiatives. You will develop and implement new business models in close collaboration with the Western Europe leadership and country business units. You will be also responsible for creating pricing guidelines, ensuring implementation and execution of the Western Europe pricing deal governance.

A Day in the Life

  • Work with the Western Europe Vice President and cross functionally to define, develop pricing and execute strategy across the product/service portfolio and customer segments.
  • Evaluate pricing trends and recommend actions to ensure pricing meets the Operating Unit (OU) strategic objectives. Conduct analysis and build consensus with key stakeholders to drive agreement on appropriate pricing levels.
  • Conduct diagnostics to determine key pricing levers and estimate pricing opportunities.
  • Set pricing aspirations/goals/targets, monitor compliance take corrective actions and assure system maintenance,
  • Work in close collaboration with the Western Europe, country, and the global Operating Unit to develop, implement innovative business models and value-based healthcare programs.
  • Review key tenders and deals and ensure they are meeting the OU revenues and profit expectations. Provide recommendations to the country business unit, and Western Europe senior management
  • Implement operating mechanisms across Western Europe to strengthen the focus on pricing as key strategic and profit lever.
  • Build consensus with the key stakeholders (Global, HQ, countries) and drive pricing mindset change in the organization.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and government regulations.
  • Use sound judgment and strong financial skills to interact with OU leaders, regional Sales & Marketing Leaders and other stakeholders

Must Have

  • At least 10years of experience in pricing, namely pricing strategy, market optimization, product profitability, tender and reimbursements.
  • The ideal candidate should have in-depth understanding and experience with the development and execution of pricing strategies that optimize market access and product profitability. Significant experience is required in price, sales or downstream/operational marketing. The last one to two positions should have been in international pricing positions or in a major pricing consultancy firm.
  • Knowledge of tender and reimbursement systems in Europe
  • Excellent analytic and strategic skills - Demonstrated analytical and statistical problem-solving skills, strong modeling skills (Excel)
  • Act with autonomy, performs work without appreciable direction.
  • Strong Leadership and influence skills, business acumen and financial understanding, strong communication and negotiation skills (written and verbal communication and presentation skills) and process-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in managing cross-functional, cross country and cross-business issues and generate impact through others within a matrix structure and an intercultural environment.
  • Fluent in English, any other European language is a benefit.
  • University degree or equivalent.

  • Vendavo knowledge.
  • Experience in medical device industry or pharmaceuticals is a plus.
