JOB SUMMARY
The Hampshire CAMHS South East Early Help Team is offering an exciting opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary team covering Fareham, Havant and Petersfield as a Band 7 Primary Mental Health Worker. A core qualification in nursing, social work or occupational therapy is essential. Previous leadership experience, working knowledge of relevant national polices and guidance in relation to children’s mental health services, and an understanding of the role of users and carers in service development are also essential.
The ability to drive and a willingness to travel is essential as we cover a wide geographical area.
The service is undergoing a period of growth and development, as we seek to expand and develop our stepped model of care for young people, delivering a range of evidence-based group interventions. You will undertake regular CAMHS assessments to ascertain young people’s suitability for our service, and there may be occasional opportunities to deliver specialist and evidence based therapeutic interventions to small numbers of young people. Supporting our Duty function is also an integral part of the role.
You will have a thorough knowledge of assessment and understanding mental health presentations in children and young people, and an appreciation of the dynamics within families. You will have a range of therapeutic skills and demonstrable experience in managing risk and complexity.
