We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Associate in Safety and Occupational Hygiene to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in identifying and mitigating workplace health and safety risks. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, relevant qualifications/certifications, and practical experience.
Excellent communication skills are essential for effective interaction with employees and management. Our aim is to enhance workplace safety and health standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a culture of safety.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related field.
- Professional certification or working toward certification in Occupational Hygiene (e.g., CertOH, CIH).
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Experience in conducting risk assessments in pharmaceutical/chemical industrial settings.
- Proficiency with occupational hygiene monitoring equipment and software.
- Knowledge of ergonomics and human factors.
- Ability to deliver engaging training sessions.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice to management and workforce by interpreting health, safety & legislation, corporate standards, policies and industry guidance.
- Assessing and controlling health hazards, including biological, chemical, ergonomic, physical, and psychosocial hazards.
- Conduct Qualitative and Quantitative Exposure Assessment surveys - write reports and communicate fiindings.
- eliminate or significantly reduce risk by making organisational changes and selecting and designing relevant facilities
- Understand and implement health and safety requirements for new products and projects through knowledge of applicable legislation and industry practices.
- Support a mature safety culture with integrated safety practices and open safety conversations.
- Deliver high quality Health and Safety training, communications and technical support.
- Ensure company compliance and continuous improvement in Health and Safety and standards, systems and programmes.
- Investigate and provide legislative guidance during incident response.
- Liaising with and report to Environmental Health & Safety regulatory agencies and corporate auditing groups.
- Collaborate with site manufacturing and technical support personnel to manage Environmental Health & Safety aspects of current processes.
- Review process and equipment changes to identify potential Health & Safety impacts.
