Senior Principal DevOps Engineer - Mission Systems (Onsite)

QUALIFICATIONS YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor’s degree (typically in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required
• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with CI/CD practices and tools.
• Proficiency in GitLab and other version control systems.
• Background in software development with an understanding of coding principles.
• Experience with test automation methodologies and tools.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Proven ability to engage with the client’s senior leadership and articulate technical solutions in an understandable manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create comprehensive documentation and presentations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering quality outcomes.
• Experience performing value stream mapping or CORE process mapping for a complex software project
• Experience as a lead consultant, partnering with clients to deliver outcome driven solutions.

Senior Principal DevOps Engineer - Mission Systems (Onsite)

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Ensure that project engagements deliver the intended value to the business and program.
• Design and partner on complex, mission-critical transformations with the software and DevOps engineers.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, driving business growth while identifying opportunities for collaboration and adoption of other enterprise services.
• Develop high-quality deliverables and presentations for client engineering teams and senior leaders, which include both technical and non-technical documentation.
• Collaborate with programs to understand their requirements and technical challenges; develop tailored solutions to address their unique needs.
• Create and present solution designs, options, ideas, and innovative strategies to clients’ senior leadership teams.
• As part of solutions, conduct value stream mapping to identify areas of greatest impact.
• Develop and conduct paired implementation of software development build, test, release and deployment pipelines using industry standard patterns and practices (CI/CD, GitOps, TDD, etc.)
• Establish project estimates and plans, identify risks and mitigations, and drive the delivery of technical solutions.
• Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to program team members, empowering them to grow and excel in their roles.
• Actively lead collaboration within our technical communities, fostering an environment of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
