JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to contribute to the process system design of multi-discipline projects. Operating in the dynamic environment of Brisbane, the successful candidate will handle multiple projects concurrently, ensuring the timely completion of all project deliverables. The Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in transforming practical concepts into commission-ready designs.
KEY SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Minimum 9-15 years conventional and unconventional oil and gas project design experience and the ability to challenge and supplement current Australian local design practices in an EPCM environment
- Broad exposure to gas facility design and construction related to field facilities (wells and flowlines) and processing facilities (production treatment of water and gas)
- Successful candidate must have experience with gas processing facility design and compression / dehydration facilities for Coal Seam Gas application
- Experience with Carbon Capture, Carbon Abatement Technologies and Future Fuels will be highly valued
- Must have field experience and site visit experience with gas processing facilities
- Successful candidate to have experience developing work-share systems between overseas offices
- Process design experience including process mass balances, process flow diagrams and process support services
- Systems design experience including piping and instrument diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, hazard and operability design reviews and systems support services
- Familiar with technical specifications and Australian and international codes and regulatory requirements
- Familiar with process safety management procedures
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science, Chemical Engineering degree
- Successful candidate must have C.P. Eng and RPEQ Designations
- IEPNG Designation highly valued
- Proficiency with HYSYS and related simulation software
- Proficiency with Ariel and Powerflow compressor rating software
- Proficiency with Fisher Specification Manager software

Responsibilities:
- Lead Process Engineer role in coordinating / communicating various issues that affect the process engineering design, safety and regulatory compliance of the work
- Leadership, mentorship and coordination of junior process personnel
- Execute Feasibility Studies / Conceptual Design / Process Studies/ Detailed Engineering Design
- Coordination of execution of work between overseas offices
- Process simulations & modeling of oil and gas processing facilities
- Developing and stamping of key design documents (Material Balance, PFD’s, P&ID’s, and Shutdown Keys)
- Line sizing; PSV sizing; Preparation of equipment process data sheets
- Prepare bid evaluation and technical recommendation of vendor data
- Bring proven Canadian and/or international conventional and unconventional oil and gas design experience and apply for use on Australian oil and gas projects to bring cost reduction realisation
- Actively participate in P&ID/HAZOP reviews; generate control narratives; prepare start-up/operating manual
- Estimate Concept phase capital costs for project economic viability
- Represent Equinox as a process engineering contractor in meetings with client, subcontractors, suppliers and authorities
