The ideal candidate will be able to lead teams of Process Engineers on intermediate to large projects commencing with proposal development activities and progressing through all phases of project development i.e. study, feasibility, Front End Engineering Development (FEED), and Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC).
This position will require interfacing with other Fluor Engineering Disciplines in the production of engineering deliverables as well as interfacing with the client representatives to align contract requirements. The candidate’s knowledge of project execution will enable them to effectively analyze situations, identify and forecast pertinent problems and evaluate realistic options as well as recommending and implementing an appropriate course of action.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and overseeing on their project the Process Technology Quality Plans as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, regulations and global standards. Participation by the candidate in departmental personnel development activities such as the mentoring of less experienced engineers including training and feedback will be required.
The purpose of this position is to provide technical responsibility for organizing, executing and coordinating complex Process Technology project assignments and may oversee a team of several

engineers.

  • May lead a team of several engineers to develop drawings and specifications for study, feasibility, Front End Engineering Development (FEED)/Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) phase project definition and/or execution
  • Develop Process Technology Quality Plans for small to large size projects
  • Develop and oversee Process Activity Plans for small to large size projects
  • Execute Fluor’s scope of work according to contract requirements
  • Interface with client representatives: project, planning, process and instrument engineers, operations and maintenance to align contract requirements and expectations
  • Interface with Fluor discipline engineers to develop interdisciplinary drawings and specifications
  • Other duties as assigned

BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • An accredited four-year degree or global equivalent in engineering and a minimum eighteen years of work-related experience is required, as is a recognized Canadian Professional registration. Preferred candidates will have extensive EPC experience;
  • Experience in the design and construction of mineral processing facilities for the recovery of copper, nickel, gold, or other base and precious metals;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders;
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job;
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines;
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals;
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English, with demonstrated competent report writing skills; and
  • Demonstrable ability to supervise junior and intermediate engineers.
