The Opportunity
Cochlear has an opportunity for a full-time Senior Process Engineer - Mechatronic based in our Sydney, Macquarie office. In this role, the successful Senior Process Engineer - Mechatronic will ensure the viability of Cochlear’s manufacturing processes by implementing stable, scalable, and reliable solutions. You will be responsible for the development and introduction of automated manufacturing technologies, ensuring project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Responsibilities include:
- Implement reliable mechatronic or automated manufacturing processes.
- Support supply chain and R&D projects with safe and scalable solutions.
- Ensure compliance with Cochlear QMS and international regulations.
- Meet manufacturing strategy by relocating/duplicating processes as needed.
- Review and improve compliance and project/launch outcomes.
- Align manufacturing technologies with Cochlear’s long-term strategy.

Essential:
- Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years in a similar engineering role within a highly regulated industry
- Experience in either process development or mechanical design.
- Experience developing and introducing manufacturing processes and products internally or at an external supplier.
- Experience in risk management methodology.
- Experience in validation of verification of manufacturing processes.
- Experience in Automation of Manufacturing processes.
