Look no further than this engineering opportunity at our Sarnia refinery where you will be accountable for providing engineering support to operations and maintenance to ensure the overall process integrity, safety and cost effective operation of the existing assets.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in refining or a related field
  • Professional Engineering Designation
  • Undergraduate Degree in Chemical Engineering
  • Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop, evaluate and implement solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Possess a deep understanding of refinery processes to make sound recommendations for process corrective actions
  • A comprehensive knowledge of industry codes, company standards and safety policies
  • Highly motivated, resourceful, resilient and committed to continuous improvement

Responsibilities:

  • Performing engineering calculations and simulations required to address process equipment or unit performance problems with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Complete development of ideas and strategies from conception to engineered recommended solutions. Action plans often include changing processes as a means of achieving objectives and includes the identification of risks and corrective alternative actions.
  • Ability to work with and influence stakeholders on technical decisions
  • Calculate the Economic justification for Capital Project options
  • Participate in Hazard reviews for Projects
  • Provides technical assistance to operations for specialized activities
  • Monitor the work of other Process Engineers (EIT) and may serve as a mentor

Location and other Key Details:

  • You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
