Senior Process Engineer (Water)

DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:
The role involves working on projects associated with, wastewater and water treatment, water resources, water reuse, and desalination. This will involve undertaking investigations, planning, designing, tendering, contract administration, and construction monitoring. Key accountabilities for this position include but are not limited to:

1.\tOversee process investigations, concept and detailed designs for water/wastewater/water reuse infrastructure

• \tReview data collection and analysis for conceptual planning and design, prepare design drawings and specifications, and solve design problems as required.
• \tReview field investigations to collect design information.

2.\tManage the preparation of process specifications, tendering and contract administration.

• \tEngineering analysis, technical writing, design calculations, specifications, and drawings on projects
• \tManage project activities through the application of technical engineering planning, principles and techniques
• \tReview project deliverables including writing technical reports, gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and completing progress reports.
• \tDetermine budgets, timelines and cost estimates for project design and construction.

3.\tCollaboration and working as part of a team.

• \tWork in conjunction with engineers to solve project design problems, performing basic design calculations as required.
• \tWork alongside the Regional Design Director and Project Managers;
• \tConduct technical, feasibility studies and site investigations
• \tLiaison with teams working remotely from other parts of the region to facilitate completion of tasks, and project.Manage and lead junior process engineers.
• \tGood communicator.

4.\tClient Service Management

• \tInternal and external client liaison
• \tAbility to build and maintain lasting and positive relationships
• \tExperience in utility diversions and management

5.\tSupport in business development and proposal submissions

• \tLiaison with bid team to determine the best approach and strategy for proposals
• \tDevelopment of level of effort and delivery team to deliver the scope of work
• \tWork on the methodology and the submittal requirements

6.\tFollow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.

• \tComplete all work in line with Stantec Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec Quality Systems and Project Quality Procedures.
• \tDesign for safety, i.e. Construction Design Management.

7.\tOther duties as requested from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• \tDegree in Civil/Environmental/Chemical Engineering, from a recognized University. (Masters degree preferred) water/wastewater treatment-related fields
• \tCollege/university graduate with 15+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of skills and experience
• \tExcellent command of English both written and spoken.
• \tThe ability to manage a heavy workload, with close attention to detail.
• \tExcellent computer skills (including wastewater modeling).
• \tThe ability to work autonomously, reviewing your work on a regular basis while consistently meeting your objectives.
• \tStrong team working capabilities. Committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis.
• \tA proactive approach, working effectively in co-ordinating activities and complex tasks, taking professional responsibility in all matters.
• \tBe of the highest calibre: punctual, attentive, and competent in adhering to COMPANYs policies, procedures, and working practices.
• \tA flexible approach to working hours and travel; with occasional weekend work if required
