Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer who is interested in growing their knowledge in hydrogen. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in process safety engineering and management, including flammable gases, storage, and distribution. You will play a critical role in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks associated with hydrogen processes along with other gasses, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Lead process safety initiatives, including for hydrogen, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Conduct thorough hazard analyses, including HAZOP, PHA, and LOPA
- Complete bow ties and safety calculations to identify and close safety gaps.
- Develop and implement process safety management (PSM) programs, policies, and procedures, including for new hydrogen operations within Fabrum
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review and enhance safety systems and protocols for hydrogen production, storage, and transport.
- Provide technical expertise in the design, operation, and maintenance of hydrogen safety systems, including leak detection, ventilation, and emergency shutdown systems.
- Mentor and upskill other engineers in process safety
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelors degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related field
- Strong experience in process safety engineering, ideally within the oil and gas or chemicals industry
- Excellent knowledge of process safety regulations, industry standards, and best practices
- Proven experience conducting hazard analyses and risk assessments
- Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement and growth mindse
