Description:

Join a team of forward thinking, enthusiastic, results-driven and collaborative professionals. To support our mission we are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Vancouver.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure engineering designs follow the standard Sedgman design workflows, systems and procedures.
  • Continuous improvement of design systems used by the organisation.
  • Investigate and implement innovative solutions to enable Sedgman to meet Clients commitments.
  • Liaise with engineers and management to review design problems or assist in client negotiations.
  • Attend to technical aspects of requests for quotation and technical literature.
  • Provide engineering support to the project teams in line with management direction whilst maximising individual and teams utilisation.
  • Produce and monitor engineering man hour budgets during concept, study, tender and detailed design stage as required.
  • Engineering Administration – Manage scheduling of work, priorities, resource requirements.
  • Focus on meeting expectations for schedule, quality and client satisfaction.
  • Communicate with clients on projects to ensure client input into project delivery standards.
  • Define and recommend design methods, specifications and performance of functional requirements for new projects.
  • Undertake or supervise the preparation of feasibility studies, surveys and reports, design layouts, circuit block or system diagrams, specifications, bill of quantities, materials lists and cost estimates.
  • Supply drafting staff with information necessary to produce detailed drawings.
  • Carry out site inspections and liaise with suppliers, clients, consultants or commissioning engineers concerning the design, installation, construction and commissioning of assigned work.
  • Ensure project time and cost KPI’s are met - monitor effectiveness of designs, scheduling of work, resource requirements and review compliance with project execution plan (schedule) and client expectations.
