Our client has an immediate requirement for a seasoned professional Senior Procurement Specialist to join their high profile government entity in Wellington. Your role will be responsible for managing the Procurement portfolio across the business. You will also mentor and coach the Procurement Staff surrounding consistency of delivery and quality procurement advice and services across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Have strong commercial acumen and the ability to prioritise thinking over process
  • Ability to confidently deliver end to end ICT, corporate and social procurement either by themselves or as part of a team
  • Ability to work in an ever changing environment and able to rise to each challenge with prowess and confidence
  • Excellent Communication skillsets both verbally and in writing and the ability to influence
  • Excellent capability to discuss and translate the finer details of the corporate and ICT needs while maintaining a clear vision of the bigger picture
  • Strong awareness of how to improve lives through the procurement profession
  • Holds a tertiary (degree-level or higher) qualification in business, commerce or similar
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as a Procurement and Contracts Specialist, with experience in executing ICT and large and complex procurement projects
  • Excellent capability in interpreting Contracts and the ability to discuss amendments and changes
  • Embraces, or has a willingness to learn about, Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Māori.
