JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for the right person to train and supervise the work of a team of producers for CNA938. You must be able to direct producers in bringing out the most salient news points in a story or radio show segment while ensuring accuracy, objectivity and timeliness. Adherence to house style is expected.
REQUIREMENTS:
- At least 15 years of editorial experience, preferably in a supervisory role at a news platform
- Excellent command of English with good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under deadline pressure
- A willingness to work irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays

Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify key news developments in Singapore and overseas
- Ensure such developments are covered appropriately
- Assign stories to producers for writing and the development of accompanying soundbites
- Edit stories and podcasts so that they are of the highest editorial and linguistic standards
- Vet stories and scripts to ensure they are accurate
- Work with producers on radio shows to produce segments and interviews
- Participate in forward planning for important assignments/projects
- Develop and enhance professional competence by providing both constructive feedback as well as guidance to producers
- Adhere to the policies and rules set by regulators by complying with editorial guidelines
- Keep updated on news and current affairs and other assigned segments by monitoring the market, competitive activities and audience feedback
- Liaise with other news gathering departments in the Mediacorp network to maximise the use of company resources
