Description:

With multiple awards to our name, Larian Studios has proven that we’re dedicated to delivering high-quality role-playing games. As we move on to new projects, the studio that brought you Baldur’s Gate 3 & Divinity: Original Sin 2 is looking for a Senior Producer to join the team and help us in crafting the high calibre games our fans have come to expect.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in game development and game production
  • Experience managing global and local teams
  • Good English communication, writing and reporting skills
  • Speaks the language of tool developers and the game developers that work with that tool
  • Voice of reason and the reality check in the room
  • Problem solving skills, going into finishing mode, identifying correct priorities
  • A technical background, a high level understanding of game engines, tools, development
  • Working with computers is second nature

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the tools that are built for developers support their day to day reality, and make their development efforts efficient and painful, by gathering and understanding their needs and requirements, and their current struggles. Follow up on the implementation, involving the content creators often enough to steer development in the right direction.
  • Balance maintenance, support and fixing bugs against new requests and features. Help create a plan that is aligned with other extra-departmental efforts, that supports surprises and change requests.
  • Recognise what is ready for the end-user and what isn’t, instead of going too far with polish or finishing too soon
  • Help reproduce the problem, offer solutions
  • Recognise how much effort different solution requires compared to its impact and frequency of use and align solution and problem
  • Help translate ideas and requests into requirements and action plans
  • Communicate and align with other departments
  • Interpret and prioritise bugs and requests
  • Help organise and follow up on tools development and technical feature development
  • As a reality check, play the game and use the toolkit and use pipelines to assess priorities, progress and quality
  • Help set up, update and maintain a high level roadmap and planning of the tools department and technical feature groups
  • Track work and progress and react accordingly
  • Unblock, solve or escalate issues, remove distractions
  • Identify and set up useful reports for the tools team
  • Ultimately, ensure delivery and output of the tools team
  • Help manage (technical) feature groups and ensure delivery according to specs
