Position Overview:
As the guardian of Navico’s design system, you will play a critical role in ensuring cohesive user experiences across our platforms. You will collaborate with a global team of designers and software engineers to create scalable, consistent design components, guidelines, and processes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of user experience and UI best practices, and will ensure the continuous evolution and quality implementation of Navico’s design systems.

Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with designers to evolve the design system and related patterns.
- Build relationships and support development teams to ensure quality implementation of design systems.
- Advocate for best practices and use of the design system within the broader business.
- Create and maintain documentation, supported by prototypes, animations, and tutorials.
- Lead by example, modelling best practices for teammates and stakeholders.
- Work with Navico leadership to develop a forward-thinking design strategy.
- Identify and resolve UX and UI issues across multiple platforms.
- Conduct research on users, technologies, and design practices.
- Participate in design workshops with internal experts and external users.
Diversity of thought and experiences is fundamental when imagining the unimaginable. Certain skillsets/experiences are necessary; however, others can be developed along the way.
Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Figma with experience in optimizing design tools and processes.
- Ability to design across various devices, breakpoints, and locales, effectively bridging the gap between design and code.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an analytical, systematic approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills when planning complex components.
- Experience in creating illustrations, icons, and animations that align with brand identity and user experience needs.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure functional designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working in a design team.
- 1+ years of experience building or significantly contributing to design systems.
- A portfolio showcasing contributions to design systems.
