Description:

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by
Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place!
We are looking for a talented digital Senior Product Designer to join our Shared Services team based in North America. Your primary focus will involve collaborating to create exceptional user experiences through a combination of user research, design, and prototyping.
The Shared Services team focuses on crafting workflows that seamlessly integrate with our many Lightspeed products across Retail, Hospitality and Golf. We help our merchants take the boring out of business by simplifying how they onboard our products, manage their money, and get paid.
The ideal candidate is an experienced Product Designer who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with complex, interconnected problems at scale. You have excellent communication skills. You’re able to set clear UX goals, direction and strategy that empower your team with clarity and purpose. You build trust-based relationships across disciplines and leverage diverse perspectives to deeply understand and improve how your team ships impactful work.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead project work from a design perspective with autonomy and authority, facilitating design reviews and working sessions to help the teams deliver the best possible solutions
  • Leverage your UX expertise and deep understanding of design systems, UI design, and how micro-interactions can help users complete a task
  • Turn nebulous concepts into specific ideas that are useful and delightful product features
  • Design holistic systems, flows and interfaces that are simple, elegant, and user-friendly
  • Understand how to use the current design system best to ensure consistency across platforms and contribute to its continuous improvement
  • Draw insights from research and data, and know how to turn those insights into tangible solutions
  • Build relationships and advocate for the user when collaborating with cross-functional teams in product, engineering, and marketing.
  • Be a positive role model and culture carrier within the studio as well as an advocate for design within the Lightspeed organization.

What you need to bring:

  • A design-thinking education or equivalent (Design, Visual Arts, Architecture, Industrial Design, or Communication);
  • At least 5 years of practical, in-house product, UX/UI design experience.
  • Excellent communication skills. You can bring internal stakeholders on your design journey and explain work with focus and brevity.
  • Excellent visualization and conceptual skills. You can synthesize something complex into something simple.
  • Strong aesthetic skills to help elevate the visual identity of our brands.
  • Applied experience with service design practices and a practice of constantly evolving your design process.
  • Applied experience working across all digital and physical manifestations of what we design - from the responsive web to native applications to the next technological leap.
  • Fluency in use of design systems, prototyping, and user research methodologies.
  • A passion for sharing design strategies with fellow designers, product managers, and engineers to deliver better, more user-centered products.
  • An acute level of self-awareness and deep empathy - for both the customer and your team’s goals.
  • A deep curiosity and ability to consider product strategy and vision. You don’t just care about “how it looks,” or “what we should design,” but “why are we designing this at all?”
  • Fluency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
  • Fluency working with agile teams and software such as JIRA.

We know that people are more than what’s on their CV. If you’re unsure that you have the right profile for the role… hit the ‘Apply’ button and give it a try!
