REQUIREMENTS:

  • Leading generative and evaluative user research.
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, accessibility standards, and front-end development practices.
  • Expertise in user research methods, such as surveys and interviews.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and disciplines.
  • Effective time management, so as to enable progressing two or three initiatives at once.
  • Strong ‘product thinking’ capability, enabling you to find the sweet spot between user needs, business needs, and technical feasibility.
  • A passion for creating visually appealing and user-friendly designs, which genuinely improve the user experience.
  • A proactive, curious attitude with the ability to take initiative and drive projects forward.
  • Empathy for users and a commitment to making a positive impact through design.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Product Designer to join our team. This role involves comprehensive engagement with the product lifecycle, from initial research and discovery to design implementation, testing, and ongoing iteration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in user experience research, design, an eye for visual aesthetics, and a passion for creating products that meet both user needs and business objectives.

Discovery and Research:

  • Lead user research and usability studies to gather insights and identify user needs and behaviours.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and refine product requirements.
  • Analyse market trends, competitor products, and user feedback to inform design decisions.

Design and Prototyping:

  • Develop wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas.
  • Create high-fidelity designs with a focus on user interaction and visual appeal.
  • Ensure designs are optimised for both desktop and mobile web.

Implementation and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with engineers to ensure accurate implementation of designs and user experiences.
  • Participate in agile development cycles, providing design expertise and feedback throughout the process.
  • Advocate for user experience best practices and design consistency across the product.

Testing and Validation:

  • Analyse test data to understand user behaviour and refine designs accordingly.
  • Use metrics and user feedback to assess the usability and impact of designs.

Measurement and Iteration:

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) post-launch to evaluate the success of design solutions in meeting user needs and achieving business goals.
  • Iterate on designs based on performance data, user feedback, and technological advancements.
  • Continuously update and refine design standards and guidelines to ensure best practices in usability and accessibility.
