As a Senior Product Safety Manager you will analyze health and environmental hazards of our products to comply with regulations. You will monitor the constantly changing regulations to ensure that Lonza is always compliant with them. Your work will also have an impact on our products marketability and regulatory compliance.
Key responsibilities:
- Perform hazard classifications according to the chemical regulations and transport regulations (GHS, DG, local laws) for assuring proper entrance of products into the markets
- Author and manage regionally complaint Safety Data Sheet and label elements for Lonza customers and Lonza employees
- Ensure provision of the mandatory documents and information such as safety data sheets, label information, Dangerous Goods classifications or marketability reports in SAP-EHS
- Develop and implement chemical control regulation strategies or documentation needed to comply with the local market requirements (i.e. REACH, TSCA, preparation of compliance statements)
- Respond to business and customer inquiries concerning product’s regulatory standing
- Provide the business and other relevant groups with adequate regulatory training and marketability concerns
- Assist the business in developing new products and securing agreements with third party suppliers
Key requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Natural Sciences, preferably Chemistry or Biology
- IATA and ADR certification is preferred
- Experience with SAP - preferably SAP EHS
- Fluency in both German and English languages
