WHY?

We’re seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join our data-driven website personalization squad.
Senior Product Engineers are a key role in our product led organisation, using modern engineering practices that enable us to deliver great products efficiently. We are looking for Senior Product Engineers that have worked in scaled product & engineering organisations that can help us deliver mature and effective products.

WHAT DO WE EXPECT?

You will provide a high level of technical expertise within your squad, and work closely with the Tech Lead and cross-functional Principal Engineers as well as peers. We are specifically looking for people who have the following characteristics:

• Problem solver: You will be taking on the challenging engineering problems facing your squad, and in some cases this will involve driving a team of engineers towards delivering a successful outcome. We are looking for people who focus on solving problems pragmatically while adding value to the product, rather than focussing on specific languages or toolsets.
• Data-driven and impact-focussed: You will always have our customers/users in mind, and ensure that any features or changes you build can be either quantitatively or qualitatively proven to have a positive impact. You will also regularly review the data to identify and suggest potential improvements.
• Collaborative: You will be working within a multi-disciplinary squad, including Engineering, Product Management, Product Design, User Research and Business SMEs focussed on a specific domain with specific outcomes, and it is key for you to work together to achieve those outcomes. You are responsible for collaborating with the rest of the squad on discovery work and ideation, keeping the end users at the centre of their thinking. Senior Product Engineers also look for opportunities to collaborate between squads to drive better over all products.
• Curious and Proactive: You are never happy with the status-quo, so will constantly be looking for ways to improve the product, whether that is through technology or by changing internal processes and practices
• Ownership: Senior Product Engineers are responsible for considering the bigger picture of their development work, not just owning the code quality and production environment, but also consideration of related roles such as user experience, security, and Product vision. You support the TLM in supporting and growing the other engineers in their squad, including mentoring and technical discussions.

You are a technical expert in full stack (Node.js, Typescript, React, Graphql) development.

• Responsible for delivering the highest quality of code and ensuring delivery within a timely manner.
• Responsible for ensuring engineering best practices, processes, industry and quality standards are adhered to, and providing feedback on any changes they feel would benefit the squad or wider engineering teams.
