JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Warcraft universe is growing! We are looking for an outstanding leader to join the World of Warcraft team as Senior Production Director. The Production Director will help oversee the World of Warcraft business and game development, helping to shape the future of our flagship MMORPG.
Qualified candidates will have demonstrated game development experience, player-focused commercial orientation, and the leadership skills necessary in leading large teams and multiple projects while maintaining constant clear communication with collaborators throughout the organization.
Reporting to the Executive Producer of World of Warcraft, the position will serve as a development lead overseeing the production process for all of World of Warcraft.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The potential home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Facilitate communication, organization, prioritization and accountability across all teams and verticals in a matrixed environment
- Drive the planning and execution of all development goals across Design, Engineering, and Art and project verticals
- Build and develop current production staff on craft: methodologies, standard processes, and release management across verticals and disciplines
- Define and delegate project vertical and discipline roadmaps, achievements, results, and staffing plans for product lifecycles
- Deliver the execution of development goals across teams and verticals
- Level up and mentor production staff on development methodology, release management and feature development with a focus on estimating, accuracy, collaboration, velocity and efficiency
- Standardize process and status reporting methodologies teamwide and forecast dates for senior leadership and the development team
- Promote and contribute to a positive team culture of diversity and inclusion
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- 8+ years of leading game production pipelines on successful AAA titles.
- Experienced in working with support, operations, and service teams such as marketing, legal, finance, creative, HR etc.
- Vested interest in shared, transparent, selfless leadership for the good of the organization
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Excellent leadership, project management, oral and written communication
- Keen knowledge of mobile, PC, and platform development pipelines as they relate to games and game production.
- Strong project management fundamentals including capacity planning, scope assessment and management, and project milestone planning.
- Mastery of multitasking and prioritizing needs across complex projects and large teams
