Boeing Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking a Senior Production Engineering Manager in support of the MQ-25 program in either Mascoutah, IL or Berkeley, MO.
As a senior manager, you will lead a team of industrial engineers, manufacturing engineers, and liaison Material Review Board (MRB) engineers supporting final assembly and ramp activities. This highly visible role will focus on driving productivity, system stability, rate readiness, and overall team performance. In this role, there will be regular interaction with the cross-functional production support team, operations, executive leadership, and governmental regulatory agencies. While primarily aligned with the first shift, flexibility will be required to meet customer needs and delivery schedules.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • 5+ years of experience in an aerospace, fabrication or manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years leading or managing engineering teams.
  • 3+ years of experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues in an operations environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role leading diverse teams, initiatives, or projects to meet business objectives and influence change.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a highly regulated manufacturing environment where compliance with policies and procedures is essential.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance.
  • 3+ years of proven strategic leadership teammate engagement.
  • 3+ years of experience in lean processes and initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees and first-level managers performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering.
  • Develops and executes integrated departmental plans, policies and procedures and provides input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, objectives.
  • Acquires resources for department activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Manages, develops, and motivates employees and first-level managers.
