JOB SUMMARY:

CES Transformer is a growing transformer manufacturer located in Markham, Ontario. Operating for over 35 years, CES is focused on the future and growth of the company. We are looking for a full-time SR. Production Scheduler to add to our motivated, entrepreneurial, and energetic team.
The Senior Production Scheduler will oversee the production scheduling process, ensuring timely and efficient production while minimizing downtime, managing resource allocation, and optimizing production flow. This role requires a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory control, and supply chain management.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field (preferred). PMP certification an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in production scheduling or manufacturing operations with a strong background in large-scale projects or complex operations.
  • Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., SAP, Oracle NetSuite, Microsoft Excel).
  • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret and analyze project data, identify potential risks, and propose solutions based on multiple variables.
  • Time Management and Organization: Excellent ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong critical thinking skills to identify issues before they escalate and take the necessary corrective action.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present and discuss scheduling data with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and show active listening and empathy to motivate a team to succeed.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in schedule creation, monitoring, and reporting. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and industry-specific standards is a plus.
  • Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarlity with Lean Manufacturing principles or Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor junior schedulers or planning teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Development: Create, maintain, and adjust detailed production schedules based on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and capacity constraints.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate with project managers, teams, and stakeholders to ensure the availability of resources (e.g., personnel, equipment, materials) in line with project needs.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor project progress, identify potential delays, and provide regular status updates to senior management. Develop and deliver progress reports, variance analysis, and critical path updates.
  • Cross-functional Coordination: Act as a liaison between various departments (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, procurement) to ensure production goals are met.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production managers, planners, and procurement teams to coordinate activities and resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential scheduling conflicts, delays, or risks early and collaborate with project teams to mitigate impacts and propose corrective actions.
  • Project Planning Support: Assist in developing project plans, milestones, and timelines at the start of each project phase, aligning with business objectives and operational goals.
  • Forecasting and Adjustments: Anticipate changes or delays in project timelines based on project trends, and adjust schedules to accommodate any scope changes or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements for scheduling methods and tools. Ensure best practices and industry standards are applied across all scheduling activities.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all schedules comply with regulatory, contractual, and organizational requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date schedule documentation for audit purposes.
  • Undertake other responsibilities as required by the manager
