Description:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy. Must also be able to provide own transportation and be able to travel statewide using all modes of transportation.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree
- 4+ years of experience in a university career development office
- 2+ years of experience in a talent acquisition role
- 2+ years of supervisory experience
- 2+ years of outreach or external relations experience

Responsibilities:
Early Talent Operations:
- Optimize the use of Handshake (SECD’s Recruitment and Career Management platform) for employers, students, and university career offices
- Identify new or emerging Handshake functionality and evaluate the impact on business processes; make process change recommendations and implement new processes and practices
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Handshake and its functionality and provide consultation to employers and other university career offices and departments
- Manage job, internship, and event feeds to uConnect and maintain the Employer area of the SECD website
- Maintain and refine processes for on-campus recruitment including interviews, tabling, and information sessions
- Document business processes and other decisions to ensure consistency and continuity of operations
Employer Education:
- Maintain current knowledge of recruitment trends and best practices, including new graduate preferences, and co-host regular training sessions for employer partners
- Host employer education events providing tailored support proceeding each major career fair
Early Talent Program Development:
- Establish and develop partnerships with alumni and employers that translate into increased opportunities for internships, micro-internships, job shadows, and other experiential learning for University of Arizona students
- Meet individually with executives, Human Resources/Talent Acquisition staff, and alumni at organizations to understand their talent acquisition needs in order to present a menu of services/events/strategies to connect employers with students from across all disciplines
- Maintain, steward, and deepen existing employer connections by providing consultations in response to employer questions and advising employers on approaches to maximize ROI on early talent engagement and recruitment strategies
- Strategically build the number of small to medium-sized Arizona organizations as well as state and local government employers interested in hosting interns or job shadows and/or serving as clients for experiential learning opportunities
- Build relationships with and collaborate with organizations such as the Arizona Commerce Authority, Greater Phoenix Economic Council, Arizona Technology Council, Local First Arizona, and Chambers of Commerce throughout the state
- Represent the university as part of business attraction initiatives
- Contribute to meeting reach goals for internship and job shadow attainment and completion
Supervision, Partnerships, and Other Responsibilities:
- Supervise 2 full-time professional staff members
- Provide guidance to Office Ambassador student staff on issues related to Handshake
- Develop and sustain reciprocal relationships with Employer & Alumni Engagement teammates, SECD Marketing, and other teams to maximize synergies across the department
- Actively participate in the University of Arizona Career Council
- Lend support to other SECD projects and events as needed
- Participate in department and university committees as needed and assigned
- Represent and present at local, regional, or national conferences on behalf of the department
