REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 7 years of experience in technical programme management, with a track record of successfully delivering complex technical programmes.
  • Deep understanding of technical programme management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules, and resources for technical programmes.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, capable of influencing and motivating diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage technical risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on technical challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all organisational levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and technical project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid technical background with an understanding of software development, IT infrastructure, or related technical domains.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a tech start-up environment.
  • Certification in programme management (e.g., MSP, PgMP).
  • Certification in technical project management (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master, SAFe).
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Lean methodologies.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The Senior Programme Manager, Technical, will play a critical role in overseeing and delivering complex technical programmes that align with our strategic objectives. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and exceptional programme management skills. You will work closely with the Head of PMO, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of technical initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Technical Programme Management: Lead the development and execution of complex technical programmes, ensuring all programme components are aligned and integrated. Develop programme plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitor programme performance against established metrics. Ensure technical feasibility and manage technical dependencies.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including senior executives, technical leads, developers, and project managers. Communicate programme progress effectively and proactively address stakeholder concerns.
  • Risk Management: Identify and proactively mitigate technical risks. Develop and implement risk management plans to address potential technical issues and ensure programme success.
  • Issue Resolution: Proactively identify and resolve technical programme issues. Escalate critical issues to senior management as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with technical teams, programme managers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure technical programme alignment and success. Communicate programme progress clearly and concisely to all stakeholders.
  • PMO Integration: Work closely with the PMO team to ensure programme adherence to established methodologies and governance processes. Contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO practices and tools, with a focus on technical programme management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the technical teams. Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
