REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree in (quantitative) economics, business mathematics, supply chain or IT/IM
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the relevant sector, less is acceptable if full fit of experience
- Knowledge and experience of data analytics and – a plus – AI solutions; experience with Tableau, PowerBI, geographical data analytics, optimisation algorithms (including respective programming languages, i.e. Python)
- Proven experience in logistics / traffic data analytics a plus
- Hands-on, can-do ability and spirit: put the aforementioned experience and knowledge to work and manage business case all the way until the creation of value
- Understanding of procurement activities and strategy, ability and readiness to drive analytics and optimisation from a business case perspective, driving value
- Open-minded and innovative approach, allowing to uncover logistics business improvement opportunities in the data
- High level of motivation and autonomy as to identify and pursue opportunities independently, including finding, integrating, improving useful data sources, setting up analysis/optimisation concepts, executing analyses/optimisations, deriving valuable results, presenting / discussing / defending these with management in-/outside EPO, proposing business implementation
- Team spirit
- Strong communication and interpersonal skillsFluent English, French is an advantage
Responsibilities:
- Structurally use and further develop existing logistics mode and flow optimiser (’PLAN-IT’) to regularly create flow optimising scenarios across Europe (currently done on individual-flow basis by experts doing ‘manual’ analytics on a starting hypothesis basis)
- Drive development of a comprehensive spend history and planning database/analytics (based on existing databases and analytics) and associated controlling/planning processes with head of European logistics procurement
- Drive development / improvement of data base for purchasing and planning
- Integrate planning for four modes/categories: rail, road, ports/barging, maritime
- Lead strategic analyses of own logistics subsidiaries and assets
- Lead development of a ‘decarbonisation logistics’ strategy, including strategic logistics flow transformation and changes/optimisation of the future logistics system in Europe
- Support individual development of logistics investment files to be brought forward towards ArcelorMittal group investment committee
- Support individual logistics innovation projects in terms of business case / analytics / numbers with partnersExplore potential of AI to improve logistics total cost of ownership (TCO) / logistics purchasing efficiency
