WSP Middle East is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer – Civil to lead and manage civil engineering aspects of a high-profile power transmission project in Oman. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in project management within the civil engineering domain, preferably in large infrastructure or power transmission projects. The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. The role involves overseeing the design, construction, and implementation of civil works, ensuring compliance with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Your new role, what’s involved?

To support the Projects Department through using their technical and management skills to deliver the projects on time, to the quality required and in line with the design

• Monthly, Weekly and daily review and follow up of the Civil Project Plan for the individual project timelines and activity carried out by the contractor & consultant
• Organizing and managing civil project reviews with the Contractors and Consultants as required
• Check and review the consultants and contractors invoices for each individual project
• Review of the civil documents specifications e.g. drawings, to ensure the civil specification is in line with requirements
• Visits sites to monitor progress. Reports all findings and raises discrepancies where necessary
• Coordination with the other departments to ensure that their requirements are captured in civil projects.
• Responding to any specification change after project commencement if any, and ensuring costs are kept to a minimum
• Ensuring that all projects are of the highest quality in line with civil quality standards and that the relevant technical knowledge is included into all aspects of the job
• Providing input for the monthly progress report
