Description:
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Tertiary Engineering Qualification.
- RPEQ certification is desirable.
- Knowledge of AS 9001 Quality Systems.
- 5-10 years’ experience in project-related disciplines, preferably in utilities, transmission/substation, and energy sectors.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, MS Project, and email.
Responsibilities:
THE ROLE: SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER OPPORTUNITY
Project: HumeLink West Project – Transforming Australia’s Energy Infrastructure
Location: Initially based in Sydney, transitioning to a site delivery role requiring FIFO on a 10:4 or 14:7 roster. Local applicants are highly considered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Coordination: Provide technical and administrative coordination for the design, supply, construction, and testing phases.
- Interface Management: Oversee the interface between UGL Civil/Electrical/Structural design engineers and Civil design consultants.
- Schedule Monitoring: Track project progress and assist the Planning and Construction Management Team in updating plans.
- Forecasting: Conduct schedule and cost vs. budget forecasting.
- Procurement Management: Ensure procurement aligns with the allocated budget.
- Team Supervision: Mentor, supervise, and manage direct reports.
- Subcontractor Liaison: Ensure compliance with drawings and customer requirements.
- Client Engagement: Lead meetings and technical discussions with clients.
- Compliance and Documentation: Assist the Project Manager with UGL Management System compliance and prepare Inspection and Test Plans with the Quality Manager.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all work complies with UGL’s Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001:2008 requirements.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all relevant safety legislation.
