Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Senior Project Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Perth, Australia.
Hitachi Rail is continuing to maintain and upgrade Rio Tinto’s AutoHaul(r) system. The current requirement is to oversee the engineering delivery of the AutoHaul(r) designs and equipment onto six new locomotives.
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with background in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in a Project Management or Project Engineering role, with experience in rail, systems and signalling.
- Experience in turnkey projects (within rail signalling) highly desirable, particularly delivering systems such as ETCS, ERTMS and CBTC.
- Experience in effective resource management and working with a large multi-cultural team.
- Experience in real-time system engineering; testing and integration activities, software verification and validation best practices and safety critical techniques.
- Agile mindset, able to take prompt decisions in a challenging environment.
- Ability to analyse data and draw insights to inform decision-making.
- Ability to form and build key stakeholder relationships.
