Responsibilities:
THE ROLE
Seequent is a world leader in the development of data visualization software. Our solutions enable people to create rich stories, uncover valuable insights from geological data, and ultimately make better decisions about their earth, environment, and energy challenges. We are seeking a highly motivated technical expert with strong business acumen to support our Geological modelling solutions.
Working closely with the North American Revenue team (including the Technical Services and Sales groups) and with other functions across Seequent, you will be a leader promoting the continuous improvement of services to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent role in either our Toronto or Vancouver offices. Travel and delivery of training within Canada and USA may contribute up to 15% of your time per month.
A senior level Geologist has advanced level expertise on the workflows facilitated by Leapfrog Geo, Edge, and Central for fast model generation and stakeholder collaboration.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Maintain a significant knowledge, competence and capability of Leapfrog Geo, Edge and Central solutions
- Be a team player by working with a larger technical team within North America and Globally
- Organize and host user forums to discuss what’s going on in the market and the current challenges and gather market intelligence
- Collaborate with the business team by setting up demos, webinars and supplying product information to prospective customers who may be evaluating our software
- Be a ‘CRM’ champion by ensuring the accurate maintenance of the database and ‘Closing the Gaps’ process, which provides Product Management with vital market information relating to new product/feature development
- Diversify your skills by collaborating with the software development teams to better understand user needs
IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU SHOULD HAVE:
- Expertise in 3D Geological Modelling using Leapfrog Geo & Leapfrog Edge More than 8 years’ work experience in mine operations, mineral exploration, and/or consulting; including proficiency in geostatistics and block modelling (including long-term mineral resource estimation and short-term grade control workflows)
- Eager to be a teacher and mentor
- Must reside in the Toronto or Vancouver areas
- University Degree in Geology or Geoscience (BSc or higher)
- Professional registration with either the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario or the Association of Professional Geoscientists of British Columbia (PGeo), or the eligibility to obtain either.
- Fluency in English; French or Spanish is considered an asset
- Must have legal credentials to work in Canada or USA
- Excellent interpersonal skills that lead to building rich working relationships
- Very curious and asks a lot of questions
