THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Advisory Services Midlands Group in Birmingham. The role is focused on delivering growth in the Transport and Major Projects team. The candidate will be joining at a truly exciting time as the team seeks to strengthen and expand a portfolio of strategically important commissions with key regional clients. The role will entail a healthy mix of client-facing programme and project delivery and advisory work, internal coordination and management of major projects, business development activities, and line management and development of junior colleagues. The candidate can expect to join a skilled, diverse, and motivated team that delivers excellent and sustainable outcomes for clients and enables the continued development of one another.

This will include providing robust advice around programme and project management of infrastructure capital works, including performance reporting, scope, change, schedule, cost, risk, issue, stakeholder, and contract management. You will analyse current project and programme management arrangements within client organisations and recommend and implement robust and sustainable improvements. Supporting transformational change initiatives, including designing and establishing new operating models and process mapping.
As an experienced member of our team, you will represent Arup directly with clients, forming long-term “trusted advisor” relationships and influencing socially useful outcomes, leading and managing multi-disciplinary Arup and supplier teams on client commissions. You will also get the opportunity to contribute to business development activities, including the preparation of expressions of interest, tenders, proposals, and thought leadership pieces, and represent Arup at industry events and conferences, disseminating learning within the firm.
At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve.
