JOB DESCRIPTION

Reports to BioProduction Senior Manager - Customer Operations and Support
Job Summary:
We are seeking a multifaceted individual for the role of Senior Project Manager to join our BioProduction custom business team. The successful candidate will coordinate cross-functional teams including Business Account Manager, Associate Project Managers, Technical Application Service Representatives, and Operations partners to manage timeframes for special / large projects and requests. Responsibilities include being responsible for the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific short-term and long-term projects related to the development, improvement, and distribution of custom made products. Additionally, the role requires outstanding customer presentation expertise and the skills to lead in order to accomplish project objectives.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree: Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering, Business Administration. A Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience in project management (5 + years), preferably in Life Sciences or related industries.
  • Proven experience leading projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills, with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Formidable communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to make informed decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including Account Managers, Associate Client Services Project Managers, Customer/Technical Service Representatives, Operations team members, product development, marketing, sales, and supply chain, to develop timelines for special projects and ensure project objectives are achieved. Build client relationships and cultivate customer dedication through well-managed experiences with the BioProduction team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Find opportunities to improve processes and implement proven methods in project management to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Comprehensive Project Planning: Build detailed project plans, including timelines, and risk management strategies, to be shared with clients and internal teams.
  • Performance Measurement and Reporting: Apply appropriate tools and techniques to measure performance. Report and raise issues to management as needed. Provide regular status reports to senior management and other team members.
  • Client Management: Maintain and manage relationships with clients, facilitating effective communication and partnership. Conduct risk management to minimise project risks.
  • Troubleshoot Technical Issues: Collaborate with technical guides to identify and understand the functional components of the customer’s processes. Align the appropriate ThermoFisher resources and team members to address and resolve issues promptly.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise their impact.
