Today we are seeking Senior Project Manager(s) – Development who will be responsible for managing multiple real estate development projects from inception to completion. They will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while actively contributing to a collaborative, respectful and positive company culture. These roles require extensive experience in project management, particularly in residential high-rise development and office-to-residential conversions.

In addition to the duties typically expected of a seasoned project manager in the construction and real estate development space, they will

  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of project execution, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, communications and reporting.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Be a respected and trusted advisor. Collaborate effectively with internal teams, including finance and construction, as well as external stakeholders such as architects, contractors, and regulatory agencies to foster a culture of engagement and collaboration.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement quality and safety control measures to maintain high standards throughout the development process.
  • Budget Oversight: Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring projects remain within financial constraints and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, ensuring timely completion of milestones and deliverables.
  • Reporting: Provide comprehensive and transparent updates to senior management and stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and outcomes, facilitating informed decision-making and accountability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with local, provincial, and federal regulations, including zoning, environmental, and building codes.
  • Cultural Engagement: Actively contribute to a positive workplace culture by engaging team members and the company as a whole, promoting collaboration, and recognizing contributions from all levels of the organization.

We are in-office 5 days a week. We sometimes work late to make sure we meet our deliverables, so the ability to work flexible and irregular hours is required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the real estate development sector. Preference will be given to candidates with a focus in industrial, commercial and investment (ICI) real estate, residential and/or high rise.
  • While work experience will be preferred, it will be beneficial to have a diploma or bachelor’s degree in construction management, project management, real estate development, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, budgeting, scheduling, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record and solid references for successfully managing complex projects from conception to completion.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a focus on building relationships.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
