TE KŌWHIRINGA | THE OPPORTUNITY

Downer hold a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice that proactively manages and delivers to the national portfolio of facilities including 16 prisons, 98 courts and 141 community correctional sites.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our high-performance Project team who are focused on delivering outstanding project outcomes. Based in Christchurch, your main responsibilities will be;

• Proactive management of project delivery, outcomes and performance.
• Identifying delivery improvements, business development and ensuring Downer achieves the required gross margin through delivery efficiencies and cost reduction improvements.
• Working collaboratively with all internal and external stakeholders to plan, schedule and deliver the required works including – scoping, quoting, POs, start and completion dates

• Management qualification and/or demonstrated skills and experience in project delivery, scoping and costing skills.
• Experience, skills and understanding of detailed aspects of business, including operations and finance.
• Strong supplier and subcontractor management and negotiation skills.
• Experience driving operational activities to ensure quality is achieved, work completed to schedule and rework is minimised.
