Description:

Aurora Geosciences Ltd. is currently looking for a qualified exploration geologist with extensive diamond drill project management experience.
Responsibilities will include management of multi-drill advanced exploration programs geared towards resource delineation, data and QA/QC processing and interpretation, preparation of technical reports, and coordination with a number of subcontractors to support a multidisciplinary approach to the program. This position will require a balance of field and office placement and will be based out of the Whitehorse, Yukon office.
The ideal candidates will have strong leadership and organization skills, the ability to work well with a team, and be self-motivated. Applicants should be physically fit, capable of working in remote and rugged areas under various climatic conditions and be prepared to travel extensively. The Senior Project Manager – Geology will be expected to participate in exploration programs primarily in the Yukon; however, they may be assigned to programs in different jurisdictions. Experience with Northern Canada’s geologic terranes and logistical environments would be an asset.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Geology
  • Registered P.Geo status in at least one Canadian jurisdiction, preferably with EGBC
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mineral exploration
  • Practical experience managing a range of exploration programs from grassroots to advanced phases.
  • First-hand experience working either in the geologic terranes of Canada’s North and/or similar terranes elsewhere
  • Practical experience logging diamond drill core.
  • Proven ability to manage and direct drill programs multiple drills
  • Proven ability to manage a remote exploration camp with more than 50 workers onsite
  • Familiar with the Health & Safety requirements of the WSCC of the Yukon Territory
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access
  • Able to work in the field for extended periods of time
  • Experience with mineral resource modelling and using relevant software is an asset
  • Effective mentor to junior personnel
