QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Construction Management, Business or equivalent
  • Diploma or Masters of Project Management, Certificate IV Safety

EXPERIENCE

  • Multiple Projects completed in a project management role on Residential projects
  • Management of multidisciplinary projects and project teams
  • Contemporary practices in design and construction methodology
  • Contractual, legal, commercial, industrial relations and legislative compliance
  • Advanced financial and commercial management including cost reduction and meeting budgets
  • People and performance management including the performance of subcontractors
  • Complex client relationship and stakeholder management
  • Quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessment
  • Analysis of and reporting on complex project performance, compliance, defects and/or non-conformance
  • Pre-contracts experience in managing tenders as a Bid Manager for a range of projects
  • Management of $100m+ Residential projects

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking to bolster the building unit with a Senior Project Manager who has experience working on large scale residential jobs ($200m+) to initially work in the office in a project support capacity.
The main purpose of this position is to help delivery of large and complex projects (normally valued $200m-$1bn) in accordance with design requirements, time and cost constraints, and commercial, HR, safety, quality, and environment and community targets.
As well as achieve or exceed project financial targets, identifying and mitigating issues as they arise and capitalising on opportunities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE INCLUDE;

  • Manage the overall delivery of the project program, on or ahead of time with all client expectations met
  • Assign resources to deliver the works within budget, time, quality and regulatory standards, monitor and guide workflow, setting daily, weekly, and long-term project goals
  • Manage the specialist functions of design, engineering, procurement and construction, manage the interaction of various disciplines and multiple work streams
  • Liaise with the Construction Manager to modify design in construction systems and methods as necessary
  • Review progress against plans, contractual arrangements and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates and take effective remedial action as required
  • Financial management: Ensure strong contract, commercial and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, take corrective action in line with JH’s authority and reporting frameworks and maximise the profit margin for the project
  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental management
  • Demonstrate leadership in risk management, compliance and auditing, and ensure legislative, pre-contract and commercial obligations are met, including compliance with the relevant Building Code
  • Stakeholder management: Ensure that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community and other external parties are developed and maintained
  • People management: Monitor staff and labour resourcing to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets, supervise workforce, including subcontractors, and foster a high performance team within a positive employee relations environment
  • Contribute to new business, continuous improvement and broader business activities
  • Perform all duties in accordance with John Holland policies, processes, systems, reporting and procedures
