The university’s Estates Planning & Development team is responsible for masterplanning the estate and planning, designing and delivering capital projects with a value exceeding £0.5m.
About the role:
Estates Planning and Development (EPD) are seeking a highly motivated, organised and capable individual to deliver effective and professional construction project management across the University’s substantial and varied property portfolio.
Reporting to the Associate Director for Real Estate Development (Health), the post holder will take ownership and independently manage a wide range of construction projects from inception through to post-completion to ensure the University’s property portfolio is effectively maintained, improved and developed in accordance with agreed standards, policies and procedures; maintenance plans; and the capital investment programme.
This is a full time post (35 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
About You: (the candidate)
As an experienced and highly capable Construction Project Manager, the successful candidate will demonstrate the following characteristics:
Essential Criteria:
- Strong leadership and interpersonal relationship skills; able to bring together complex stakeholder groups to manage project deliverable and achieve project outcomes and objectives.
- Sound and comprehensive technical expertise plus practical knowledge of building construction including new build and refurbishment works
- Qualified as an Associate member of a relevant building related professional institution CIOB / RICS / APM or other relevant professional qualification
- Highly developed construction contract, project management, finance and budgeting skills.
- Ability to organise complex work schedules, able to prioritise and manage, achieving relevant deadlines accordingly
- Significant experience and track record of leading large scale, complex real estate development projects and programmes
