JOB DESCRIPTION:
We have an exciting opportunity within the Electronic Warfare line of business of Leonardo UK. We specialize in developing cutting-edge software solutions to support military operations and are committed to delivering high-quality products and services to our customers. We our seeking an experienced project manager to manage an early lifecycle software development project to allow us to expand our product portfolio.
You will be responsible for project execution and delivery, with particular emphasis on achieving customer commitments. You will lead all aspects of project management including, stakeholder management, lifecycle management, team leadership, risk management, financial management and all aspects of the monthly project review cycle.
Your leadership role can accommodate a mixture of on-site and home working.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
- Demonstrated experience of managing IT / software / engineering development projects
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplined teams in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated customer relationship skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of project planning, scheduling, work package management, sub-contract management and cost control
- Degree qualified or equivalent, ideally in a business or engineering related discipline
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and take ownership for the successful management of the project
- Be responsible for schedule, cost and quality adherence
- Manage complex internal and external stakeholders / customers
- Be responsible for project risk and opportunity management
- Undertake dependency identification and management
- Lead internal reporting and present project summary status at project reviews
- Ensure adherence to the company’s project and product lifecycle management processes and appropriately tailor these to meet the requirements of the project
- Work closely with functional groups to ensure projects are appropriately resourced to achieve successful execution
- Have accountability for contract and project delivery
