Senior Project Manager

OpenVPN is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee our development team. Our ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science, 3+ years of experience in the field, and a good understanding of networking and security concepts. In this role, you will be responsible for the team’s performance, oversee the development process, and act as a project manager and Scrum master.

• Lead and manage projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines, resources, and scope
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria
• Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and contingency planning
• Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on project goals and progress
• Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, providing regular updates to stakeholders and senior management
• Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and adapt plans as necessary to ensure project success
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement by conducting post-project reviews and applying lessons learned to future projects
• Take ownership of the project and drive the software development process through all stages of the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)Review and improve the performance of individual team members

• Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science

• At least 3 years of experience leading software development projects in networking or security
• Understanding of networking and security concepts
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
• Proven experience of creating project plans, including resource allocation, risk management, and contingency planning
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certification is highly desirable
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
