SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER / PORTFOLIO MANAGER WATER SUPPLY (M/F/D)

Dorsch International Consultants is implementing projects financed by International Financing Institutions such as KfW, GIZ, World Bank, EBRD, EIB, UN and others. Our work comprises a large variety of sectors such as water & wastewater, energy, social infrastructure, climate, and urban sustainability. We are providing engineering and advisory services along the entire project lifecycle, ranging from studies and investment planning, through design and implementation as well as capacity building and operation and maintenance support.
For our Water Department we are looking for a Portfolio Manager / Senior Project Manager for Water Supply with sound experience in international business development, project management and intercultural team management. Main topics to be covered include: Feasibility studies, master planning, design and construction supervision of urban and rural water supply schemes, distribution networks, hydraulic modelling, water treatment plants, non-revenue water, stormwater management, operation and maintenance, capacity development, Water-Energy NEXUS, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or equivalent and at least 10 years of professional experience in international water supply projects funded by International Financing Institutions, preferably KfW, GIZ, World Bank and others;
  • In-depth technical expertise throughout the project cycle from study, design, tendering to project implementation/construction supervision in accordance with FIDIC;
  • Profound experience in coordinating multidisciplinary and virtual teams in projects worldwide as well as strong team spirit and proven intercultural communication skills;
  • Excellent English language skills. Good command of the German and French language would be an asset;
  • High sense of responsibility, motivation, assertiveness and decision-making ability.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be responsible for the technical and financial coordination of our water supply projects;
  • You will supervise your team of engineers and also take care of its manpower and resource planning;
  • Together with your team, you will manage our ongoing international water supply projects, primarily in the MENA region, Africa and the Balkans;
  • You will be responsible for the coordination and preparation of proposals (technical and financial);
  • You will coordinate cooperation with all relevant stakeholders (donors, clients, experts, contractors, consultant team);
  • Willingness to spend extended periods of time in our office in Amman;
  • Willingness to travel as per international project requirements, including backstopping missions and short-term assignments, if needed.
  • You will further develop our water supply portfolio and explore new regional and technical opportunities worldwide;
  • You will ensure technical quality assurance in terms of project progress, reporting and final handover of projects.
