QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Education:
  • Hold a Level 8 (or higher) qualification in Architecture, Engineering, or Surveying, accredited by a relevant professional institute.
  • Alternatively, hold full chartered membership with a recognized professional association.
  • Professional Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience in planning, design, or project management of large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and oversee multiple concurrent projects.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of building regulations, procurement processes, and health & safety standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools such as Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and financial systems.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with strong leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Capacity to manage complex budgets and deliver value-for-money solutions.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on proactive decision-making.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee the delivery of major capital infrastructure projects for a public sector client. This is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring that large-scale projects are executed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. This role offers a 2-5 year contract with an excellent opportunity for permanency. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure the seamless delivery of infrastructure that supports critical services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Leadership:
  • Lead the development and execution of major capital projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for project oversight, reporting directly to senior leadership.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including budgets, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate on the preparation of master plans and capital submissions to align with strategic objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, including design teams, contractors, and governmental bodies.
  • Facilitate communication between clinical personnel, operational staff, and technical teams.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including procurement legislation, building standards, and health & safety protocols.
  • Oversee documentation for permissions, licenses, and certifications.
  • Team Management:
  • Supervise project teams, including design professionals and contractors, to ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Provide leadership in performance management, risk assessment, and quality assurance.
  • Operational Excellence:
  • Monitor progress through regular updates, ensuring any potential delays or challenges are addressed promptly.
  • Oversee commissioning processes to ensure readiness for operational use.
