EDUCATION
University degree in science, engineering, project management, or in another field that is relevant to the duties of this position.
A formal designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI) would be considered an asset.

EXPERIENCE
- Recent* and significant** experience in managing large, complex scientific and/or industrial infrastructure and/or real property projects as well as the management of multi-disciplinary teams and multi-partner resources in a matrix environment.
- Recent* and significant** experience in the application of project management principles and the adoption of best practices.
- Experience in reporting to senior management on project performance including:
- Reviewing, producing and analyzing project performance indicators such as those related to costs, schedule, quality, client satisfaction and project team engagement; and
- Providing recommendations on issues resolutions.
- Experience in internal and external stakeholder engagement in a complex environment.
- Experience in managing projects in a Research and Technology environment would be considered an asset.
- Recent experience is defined as within the last two (2) years.
**Significant experience is defined as at least seven (7) years of experience.

Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager (RCO) to join our Real Property Planning and Management (RPPM) Branch. The Senior Project Manager would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
RPPM has the mandate to lead the prioritization of NRC recapitalization projects and deliver research facilities and real property renewal projects to support NRC’s transformation journey into a more advanced research and technology organization that supports Canada’s science, technology and innovation ecosystem.
Under the direction of the Director, Engineering and Construction, the Senior Project Manager provides project management support to Research Centres for the development of project charters and project management plans for scientific facilities and/or real property projects and ensures that the projects they are assigned are delivered, that schedules and budgets are adhered to, and that stakeholder expectations are met.
The incumbent leads a multi-disciplinary teams in a matrix environment, drawing on subject matter experts from Research Centres, RPPM engineering leads, project coordinators, procurement agents, comptrollers and administrative staff and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
The Senior Project Manager is responsible to prepare project charters, project management plans, status reports and all required documents to comply with the RPPM Engineering and Construction Office project delivery process and policies. They shall also support the Director, Engineering and Construction in performance planning by monitoring of the day-to-day progress and budget of the projects as well as other related activities.
