Our CMM & Gauging Products Division has a requirement for a Senior Project Manager to oversee complex R&D projects for our world renowned metrology products and systems. Reporting to the group Programme Manager, the successful applicant will also act as a mentor and coach to project managers within the division.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of new product, current product and accessory projects using Renishaw’s Product Innovation Process Process
  • Coordinate the multi-disciplinary activities of many individuals, teams, Renishaw divisions and external suppliers, in order to achieve project deliverables and objectives
  • Create and maintain project plans and documentation, ensuring process and regulatory compliance, and good working practices
  • Resolve problems, ensuring completion of tasks to agreed time, cost and quality targets
  • Regularly report on project status and risks as agreed with the stakeholders, communicating through the written word, conversations, and presentations
  • Learn lessons and provide input that helps to improve our processes and performance
  • For each project, maintain and build a sense of team
  • Act as a mentor and coach to others in project management roles within your area, and become a point of reference for engineers and other staff
  • Turn around under-performing projects, and create productive teams across multiple sites
  • Be an ambassador for your projects and area, to all levels of the Renishaw Group
  • Champion improvement of project management tools and practice, through project experiences and industry best practice

Key requirements

  • Experience in running projects across multi-disciplined teams. (Mechanical, Electronics and Software)
  • Ability to flex to project demands while also challenging scope changes.
  • Understanding of R&D environments and experience of bringing product to market from this environment
  • Good written communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and concisely
  • Willingness to question the norms and suggest improvements based on their experiences and background.

Person specification
The successful applicant will have a high level of personal discipline and motivation, with a keen sense of responsibility for the success of their projects. They will enjoy learning, and developing their own abilities and those of their project teams. They will be proactive, a completer finisher, highly organised and also flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the day to day project environment, being driven to meet deadlines and achieve targets. A strong communicator in the technical and business domains, they will be able to prioritise work effectively when under pressure from many sources.
