Description:
Responsibilities:
Rightmove have an ever-increasing number of multi-disciplinary product teams constantly making improvements to experiences for consumers, customers or internal teams. They are supported by a number of central platform and infrastructure teams. Where an initiative maps neatly onto one or a small number of these teams, generally project managers aren’t required. Where we get involved is typically when an initiative crosses lots of teams, is particularly risky or complex or involves a lot of business change activity. With Rightmove investing in all areas of its business, there are an increasing number of initiatives that fit into these categories. An initiative may primarily entail custom software development, implementation of packaged software for internal users, upgrading platform/infrastructure capabilities or rolling out a significant change to internal ways of working.
If you are an adaptable, experienced technology focused project manager, this could be the job for you.
What you’ll be doing
- Manage complex projects ensuring alignment, collaboration, and effective delivery across all involved stakeholders
- Ensure scope is managed effectively and projects stay focused on agreed goals and outcomes
- Establish and maintain effective governance and project reporting for initiatives that require more structured oversight, without disrupting Agile practices
- Ensure appropriate ways of working are in place in relation to the delivery lifecycle and that roles and responsibilities are agreed and understood by the team
- Create and maintain project plans, ensuring that dependencies between teams are well understood
- Ensure appropriate quality assurance processes are in place that are in line with the risk level of the initiative
- Manage stakeholder relationships and take responsibility for project communications
- Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and blockers and ensure risk mitigation activities are undertaken
- Agree and co-ordinate business change activity to ensure that affected stakeholders aren’t adversely affected by any changes to their roles or processes
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lead retrospectives to identify actionable improvements to our ways of working
- Play a role in managing your project teams, helping resolve conflicts, motivating staff and keeping an eye on team well-being
- Where required, track project costs and facilitate procurement activity.
