Responsibilities:

  • Lead and inspire design teams to develop new products & technologies from concept to detailed design.
  • Initiate and steer practical brainstorming sessions that spawn open-minded, out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Effectively manage the “triple constraint” of budget, schedule and scope on complex, dynamic product development programs.
  • Assist and lead elements for the Project Management Office (PMO), including conducting reports with other project managers, updating processes and evaluating new tools.
  • Strategically manage expectations with StarFish Medical’s customers, including separating " need " from “want” and presenting trade-off evaluations to support decision-making.
  • Apply a risk management-centric approach to actively highlight and disposition threats and opportunities.
  • Mentor & support the development of other PMs and junior project managers (project engineers).
  • Oversee and direct the work of other project managers and junior project managers (project engineers).
  • Initiate and lead appropriate design reviews as required.
  • Interface with Business Development and Program Managers to support the transfer of new activities into Engineering
  • Supervise team members’ work to ensure compliance with regulatory standards, company procedures, product requirements, and specifications.
  • Support vendor quotations, POs and lead times to monitor BOM targets and ensure cost-effective manufacturing processes are chosen during design.
  • Work closely with clients, team members, and vendors to monitor and control schedules & budgets.
  • Ensure all required design & quality documentation is completed and all design processes are followed.
  • Adhere to and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS), including developing and maintaining documentation.
  • Continue to support products through the manufacturing transfer and ongoing production. This includes creating and managing ECRs and ECOs and liaising with clients to resolve product issues.
