Description:
At Thales, we know technology has the ability to make our world more secure, sustainable, and inclusive – and that it’s all driven by human intelligence.
Because it takes human intelligence to build and power the systems and solutions that people depend on every day. So we stay curious and make space for diverse points of view. We share what we know and we challenge what’s possible.
From manufacturing and engineering to cybersecurity and space, we’re driving progress in some of the world’s most important industries – and working together to build a future we can all trust.
Our Protected Vehicles team works closely with clients to design, manufacture, maintain and upgrade protected vehicles that keep people safe, all around the world. Our state-of-the-art workshops are set up to help us deliver Hawkei and Bushmaster military vehicles to strict defence standards – and set our people on rewarding career paths.
Working from either our Bendigo site on Dja Dja Wurrung land or our Eaglefarm, Brisbane site on Jagera and Turrbul land, your role purpose is to lead and manage allocated bids and/or projects in the VTS-PRV business portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage project teams to achieve business objectives, ensuring project success in cost, time, safety, and quality
- Engage across functions to optimize resource allocation and ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee and improve integrated project schedules, budgets, risks, and opportunities, while organising gate reviews in line with Thales’ governance
- Develop high-quality, competitive bid offers and create winning strategies, aligning them with customer expectations and Thales’ governance framework
- Monitor and analyse KPIs, identifying risks and variances, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success
On day one in this role, we’ll expect you to bring the following skills, experience and behaviours:
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- Proven experience in senior-level Bid and Project Management, preferably within Defence or related industries
- Ideally experience in Protected Vehicle uplift and modernisation business practices
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage large, complex projects across multiple geographies
- Experience in managing complex bids, strategic captures, and multi-partner collaborations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to represent the company at senior levels, both nationally and internationally
- Knowledge of Earned Value Management techniques and Defence ASDEFCON procurement processes
- IPMA Certification (or willingness to secure certification) is highly desirable
- Must be eligible for Australian Defence Clearances
