An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team of professionals as a Senior Project Manager. Working in our fast paced, forward-thinking office, our projects are guaranteed to challenge your knowledge. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead the full cycle project management process through collaboration with the estimating, operations, and project management team.
The PM will work well under pressure to meet deadlines and must be able work on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills while being a strong, dependable team player who is confident, thorough, and able to see a project through to completion.
As the ideal candidate, you have a proven track record of successfully managing construction projects, preferably within the civil and landscape industry. You possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate and manage project teams. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of construction processes and principles.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-15+ years of experience in project management in the civil construction industry.
  • Post-secondary education, such as a degree or diploma in a related field, and/or relevant combination of experience.
  • PMP or other project management certification is considered an asset.
  • Estimating experience is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of relevant software applications, such as MS Project and Primavera is considered an asset.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Experience with HeavyBid, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Trimble an asset.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Flexibility to adjust to shifting priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and alliances with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire lifecycle of the company’s project portfolio. This includes strategic planning initiatives, tactical activities, budget, schedule, resources, and quality assurance.
  • Providing leadership to project teams, including contractors, subcontractors, and internal staff.
  • Ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
  • Monitoring and controlling project progress, including identifying and resolving any issues or delays.
  • Communicate relevant project information to team members, supervisors and clients.
  • Facilitate and develop project and team meetings and incorporate action items to meet targets, timelines, and budget requirements.
  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in such a way that maximizes, safety, quality and then profitability.
  • Collaborating with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely project administration/contract administration including pricing change orders, tracking requests for information, document control, and communication to all stakeholders.
  • Preparing and managing project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Issuing subcontracts.
  • Build and enhance relationships with new and existing clients, consultants, suppliers and trades, continuously promoting the wilco culture and brand.
