For our offices in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, we are currently looking for a Senior Project Manager who will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects following the internal Wolters Kluwer Project Management Framework. Projects shape our organization and embody our day-to-day activities so your success is our success.
This is a client-facing role in the Finance, Risk and Regulatory Reporting Office at Wolters Kluwer. This office is a Professional Services / Consulting organization that delivers Wolters Kluwer software implementation services to a large range of clients from the Banking Industry.
Responsibilities:
- You will have an overall responsibility for the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects
- You will have final accountability for the project success (excluding situations that are beyond one’s control) making sure that the project delivers the expected outcomes and benefits
- You will make sure that the project is running within scope, on time and within budget
- You will make sure that risks are properly identified and mitigated
- You will make sure that scope changes are properly identified and documented as Change Requests
- You will follow the Wolters Kluwer Project Management Framework on all project stages
- You will use the established PM tools & techniques available to you
- You will make sure all project documentation is created and kept up to date
- You will build efficient project teams and assure continuous leadership at the project level.
- You will play an advisory role towards our clients. You will use your knowledge and expertise through the different projects by advising on our standard and/or customized solutions.
- You will be responsible for the quality of the project, including the implementation work done by your team of functional & technical consultants.
- You will participate in Project Review meetings where you need to shortly discuss the status of your current projects
- You will support the Project Management Practice Lead and the Project Management Community by sharing best practices, lessons learned and other valuable project insights that can benefit the whole organisation
- You will participate in the Quarterly budgeting process by providing updated estimates of your projects budgets and timelines
Qualifications and Skillset
- Master’s degree in Economics, Business Economics, Business Engineering and/or specialization in Banking and Finance.
- Proven track record at managing projects in financial services or professional services organizations, and of the methodologies necessary to deliver enterprise and complex systems integration projects.
- Profound experience of minimum 5 years in a banking or investment environment
- Experience with Risk Management or Regulatory Reporting software solutions implementations is a plus
- Detailed knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile)
- PMP or Prince2 certifications are an important plus
- Experience in managing complex projects following the full life cycle methodology from inception to transition to production and post-implementation.
- Demonstrated excellence in a variety of competencies including teamwork/collaboration, analytical thinking, communication and influencing skills, and technical expertise.
- People management skills
- Experience in software implementation projects is mandatory
- Ability to deliver presentations
- Good knowledge of Microsoft tools
- Database and SQL knowledge is a plus
- Written and oral fluency in both English is mandatory; German or French are a big plus; Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish represent an advantage
- Some of our clients want to meet us so occasional travel within EMEA is required especially for project initiation and steering committees
